Britney and PETA
Britney Spears has pulled out of a poster campaign for People
for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) after reports
she would appear nude.
The suggestion was widely reported, but Spears has now said
she was not planning to pose at all, not even with her clothes
on.
Peta campaign director Dan Mathews has denied he said Spears
planned to pose naked.
"We've never distorted anything," he said. "We
simply confirmed that we planned on doing a poster with her
- we never said anything about nudity."
"If the downside is that the whole world knows Britney
Spears is anti-fur, that's a good thing," he added.
Ms Kasteler said the singer "still feels strongly about
animal rights" and would "find another organization
to be involved with".

Spears stopped using a caged tiger
and a live snake in her stage shows
after criticism from Peta. |
